Default Suit Color

How important is suit color for a competition? Is it a mind thing for the competitor. If she feels good/ looks good type thing? Or does it make a difference? What about the amount of crystals--Also do you want the suit to match the physique, IE a super crystalled out suit wouldn't quite match a tiny body--might be over powering???

I have heard certain judges recommend certain colors..like pink isn't the greatest under stage lights. But other then then that--it depends on what color looks best on you.

Crystals--I have never heard what you commented on but I i think more important then the amount of crystals is the cut of the suit.

From the spectator perspective, I've definitely seen some overstoned suits that did overpower the competitor as I've seen some suits that weren't stoned enough that detracted from the competor as well. I've seen some suits that were so heavily stoned that none of the fabric was showing. I did find this distracting and found myself focusing more on the suit than the person's physique. I personally like bold patterns or a planned pattern in general vs just random stones sprinkled on the suit. I think patterns and lines can accentuate the physique and just like regular clothes, accentuate a person's stronger areas as well as de-emphasize weaker areas. Oh and I hate ankle bracelets too. I think they make one leg look shorter than the other but I have seen pros wear them so maybe that's just my issue.

I've never been to a comp before. I am obsessed with the stoned suits. I love anything with sparkles, sequins. I think it's so fabulous. Trust me when I say I never have a desire to compete. But I love looking at the suits.
